North Downs Half Marathon
Also in action on Sunday 9th July was the unstoppable Bex who took on the North Downs Half Marathon. This is an out and back race described as a scenic summer run following the undulating North Downs Way trail to the Boxhill lookout point.
It was really well organised and friendly with great marshalling, and Bex coped well with the steep hills and heat, but the addition of ‘varied terrain’ – tree roots, pot holes, undergrowth and slippy gravel – earned it the label of the toughest run she has ever done!
That said, she loved it and managed to find time to appreciate the lovely scenery on the way.
Relish Running Races Two Tunnels Railway Race
On Sunday 9th July Adrian Eeles found a novel way to escape the sun by running first 5K then, after approx 30 mins break, 10K in railway tunnels in the Relish Running Races Two Tunnels Railway race. Each race was a ‘Return Ticket’ which meant the course was out and back within the Somerset and Dorset Railway tunnels which cut right under the beautiful city of Bath. Not a race for the claustrophic! Adrian completed this double in the impressive times of 24.24 and 52.58 respectively and got two very interesting medals in return
