Dacorum & Tring AC athletes across all age groups and in a wide range of disciplines have been setting new club bests at record speed – as of July 1st, there were 58 new club records so far for 2018, the best year so far. At the same point in the season in 2017, there were 54 records set, and in 2016, only 46. The high level of performance not just demonstrated by our records breakers but by all the athletes who come out to training week after week, setting new PBs, winning district and county medals and helping the club to top the tables at EYAL and SAL matches, is a testament to the the hours of hard work and the dedication of the athletes themselves, their coaches and their families.

Paul Burton, who has been keeping D&T’s records for many years, had this to say about our rec0rd-breaking month: “In a continuously developing trend, 21 club records fell in June. They quite remarkably run from U13 Girls to V70 men. A number of these are currently close to the top of the UK rankings, as illustrated by the table below.
This confirms that we now have tremendous strength at Under 17 level. However, our champion of the month must be Pierce Reynolds who set over the period six new club records in disability athletics at the U15 level. His national rankings in his wheelchair events, which range from 100m to 1500m, currently stand between 15th and 18th. In short, we are most definitely going through a wonderful period!”
